LJUBLJANA, Aug 28 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman may
visit Slovenia by the end of the year if all agreements reached at
the recent meeting between Slovene and Croatian foreign and economy
ministers are realised, Croatian Ambassador to Croatia, Ivica
Mastruko, told the Slovene television on Friday.
Asked whether the agreements from the meeting in Mokrice would be
influenced by local elections in Slovenia coming up soon, Mastruko
said he did not believe that would be the case. If states waited for
elections to pass every time, negotiations would be impossible, he
said.
Mastruko said there was a possibility that an arbitration for the
dispute regarding the Krsko nuclear power plant could be in an
advisory and consultative form, rather than classic arbitration.
However, he added, in case the two countries agree on arbitration,
they must sign an agreement and appoint an arbiter whose decision
would be accepted.
