ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - Croatia's power supply company (HEP) on
Thursday confirmed that its Slovene counterpart around noon
switched off two of five transmission lines through which Slovenia
delivers electricity to Croatia.
The transmission lines which were turned off are Krsko-Zagreb 1 and
Krsko-Zagreb 2, both 400kW, which make up for more than half the
transmission capacity extant between Croatia and Slovenia.
As yet Croatia has no problems in the power supply system, HEP
reported.
This is the first time that Slovenia denied Croatia with
electricity since the Krsko nuclear plan, which is jointly owned by
Croatia and Slovenia but is on Slovene territory, was opened in
1981.
Slovenia's power supply company said the reason for its action was
HEP's debt to Krsko.
