ZAGREB, Aug 27 (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Thursday received the outgoing Spanish Ambassador Luis Felipe
Fernandez de la Pena.
President Tudjman presented Ambassador de la Pena with the "Order
of Prince Branimir" decoration for his contribution to the
successful development of the Croatian-Spanish relations.
The President asked Ambassador de la Pena to convey his best wishes
to King Juan Carlos.
Expressing gratitude for the decoration, Ambassador de la Pena said
that his five-year-long mission in Croatia was exceptionally
interesting.
I was able to witness the establishment, consolidation and
development of the Croatian state, de la Pena said adding he
believed in the future successful development of the Croatian state
and Croatian-Spanish relations.
De la Pena added he believed that Croatia would take the place it
deserved within the European community.
Present at the meeting were also the Presidential Chief-Of-Staff
Hrvoje Sarinic and the President's advisor on foreign affairs Neven
Madey.
