ZAGREB, Aug 18 (Hina) - A delegation from the Apel Centre on Tuesday
presented the French Ambassador to Croatia, Jean Jacques Gaillard,
with a white brick to support their drive for the reconstruction of
a house in Vukovar.
The hand over by the Apel Centre, a Croatian non-government
organisation for the protection of the rights of detained and
missing citizens of Croatia and their families, came as part of its
campaign to mobilise politicians for the voluntary reconstruction
of the house in their spare time.
Apel president Zdenka Farkas also presented Ambassador Gaillard a
letter in which she outlined the problem of persons who were
detained and deported by force during the Serbian aggression
against Croatia.
In the letter she appealed to the ambassador to use diplomatic
channels to persuade the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to provide
information on all the detainees, as well as information on all
executed persons and the location of their graves.
So far Apel has presented white bricks to Croatian Popular Party
president Tomislav Mercep, America's Ambassador to Croatia,
William Montgomery, OSCE mission to Croatia head Tim Guldimann, and
Greece's Ambassador to Croatia, Stavros Vassilopoulos.
