JELSA, Aug 24 (Hina) - The Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO) on
Monday opened the third summer school on human rights in Jelsa, on
the island of Hvar.
The seminar, titled "Social Rights as Human Rights", was opened by
HHO president Ivan Zvonimir Cicak.
The five-day event has gathered about 20 participants, including
representatives from the Croatian Foreign and Interior
Ministries.
The main topics of the seminar are social rights in general and
their codification in international documents.
The seminar will also tackle the social rights of war victims,
pensioners, teachers, displaced people, refugees, workers and
tenants.
Also discussed will be the relationship between the media and
social rights and social rights in the former Yugoslav states.
Representatives of non-government organisations from all former
Yugoslav states and the two Bosnian entities are also participating
in the work of the summer school.
