CAKOVEC, Aug 7 (Hina) - A protocol on the operational
implementation of a contract and minutes on cooperation between the
Croatian Interior Ministry and the Hungarian State Border Command
was signed in Cakovec, northern Croatia, on Friday.
The protocol was signed by the administration head of the Hungarian
Sector B border control Brigadier General Gyorgy Fonyodi and police
heads of Medjimurje, Koprivnica-Krizevci and Virovitica-
Podravina, three counties in northern Croatia, Marijan Varga,
Kresimir Papac and Djuro Matovina.
The police cooperation between the two countries in fighting
terrorism, smuggling and drug abuse, and organised crime is very
good, Varga and Fonyodi told reporters.
Today's protocol will improve cooperation and increase efficiency
in fighting terrorism and smuggling, and especially the recently
increasing illegal border crossings.
