CAVTAT, July 31 (Hina) - Croatia and Austria on Friday signed a
protocol on cooperation in tourism.
The protocol was signed in Cavtat, southern Croatia, by the leaders
of a mixed Croatian-Austrian commission for tourism, Croatia's
Deputy Tourism Minister Vinka Cetinski, and Erich Musyl, head of
the Department for Tourism at the Austrian Economy Ministry.
Both parties were satisfied with the growth of tourism in Croatia
and Austria.
It was concluded there existed possibilities for an even better
tourist business, given the great tourist potential in both
countries.
The two parties agreed on fields and forms of joint cooperation in
improving the organisation and development of private tourism and
hotel management, the tour-operator business, and education in,
research and development of management.
Three working groups will be established by late September to
immediately draft implementation programmes for the agreed modes
of cooperation.
The Austrian delegation supported Croatia's access to the PHARE
programme.
The Croatian delegation asked for support to associations of
Croatian travel agencies to become observers at the ECCAA in
Brussels.
