ZAGREB, July 26 (Hina) - The third edition of Travel Info has been
launched, depicting vital information in English, German and
Italian for foreign tourists visiting Croatia this summer and
potential visitors to the country.
The tourist information brochure as well as new pamphlets for
visiting motorists were presented to the press last Friday at
Zagreb's Esplanade Hotel.
Joint publishers are the Croatian Tourism Ministry, the Croatian
Institute for Culture and Information (HIKZ) and the Croatian
National Tourist Board (HTZ).
"Approximately 80 per cent of Croatia's tourists are foreigners,
therefore we have to direct Croatian tourism to the international
tourist market," Croatian Tourism Minister Sergej Morsan said,
among other things.
Travel Info also pays special attention to information about
cultural events in Croatia during the tourist season. HIKZ director
Ivan Bekavac said getting to know Croatia's spirit through artistic
expression was no less important than getting acquainted with
Croatia's natural beauty.
HTZ headquarters director Marijan Bulat said the third edition of
Travel Info was published with 200,000 copies, of which 30,000
would go to about 12,000 addresses abroad every week.
Copies can be received in Croatia from hotels, camping grounds,
marinas, petrol stations, tourist information offices, travel
agencies and all places where tourists seek particular
information.
About 700,000 copies of brochures for tourists arriving by car have
been printed in seven languages, and these can be received at all
border crossings.
Travel Info has also featured as a supplement in Croatia's English
language newspaper "Croatia Weekly", published by HIKZ. The paper
features a summary of newspaper articles on political, economic,
cultural and sporting events in Croatia.
All the information is also available by via the Internet on HIKZ's
web-site: www.croatia.hr/.
