SARAJEVO, July 17 (Hina) - The United Nations mission in Bosnia will
engage renowned legal experts from abroad to commence in the next
three months with the implementation of measures towards
restructuring Bosnia's judiciary, mission spokesman Aleksandar
Ivanko said in Sarajevo on Friday.
Measures aimed at reforming extant courts will be based on
assessments made by international legal experts, said Ivanko.
The exerts will arrive in Bosnia on the basis of a resolution
adopted by the UN Security Council on Thursday.
The resolution calls for full cooperation with and support to a
programme which will be realised on the basis of an initiative by
the international high representative for Bosnia Carlos Westendorp
and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
According to Westendorp's office spokesman Simon Haselock, the
office has a clear stand on the matter. It is dissatisfied with the
Bosnian judiciary and believes it requires immediate reforms.
