SARAJEVO, July 8 (Hina) - The international High Representative for
Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday appointed Tomaz Petrovic
international administrator for Bosnian Radio-Television (RTV
BH).
According to a statement from High Representative Carlos
Westendorp's office in Sarajevo, Petrovic was chosen on the basis
of his long-standing experience working in journalism and
programme creation.
Westendorp appointed Petrovic as the 11th member of the Temporary
Administration Board of RTV BH after the members of Bosnia's
collective Presidency Alija Izetbegovic and Kresimir Zubak chose
the remaining board members. Westendorp is expected to confirm
their decision next week.
A memorandum on the restructuring of RTV BH envisages for the
international administrator to mediate in securing financial and
technical support necessary for RTV BH's renewal.
Westendorp's office said the High Representative believes that a
television programme financed by citizens must be free of any
political influence and must be realised in a way clear both in the
governing and financing of RTV BH.
