MOSTAR, July 14 (Hina)- A Croatian Airlines aeroplane with 10
passengers on board landed on Tuesday at the Mostar Ortijas
airport. That was the first civilian flight to the Mostar airport,
which marked the resumption of commercial traffic.
The airport was ceremoniously reopened for commercial traffic last
week.
According to an announcement on Tuesday, as of now there will be
three return flights from Zagreb to Mostar every week, on Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays.
The resumption of commercial traffic, after a six year lull, was
preceded by a year long negotiations on the management of the
airport between the Croat and the Bosniac sides. The differences
were resolved through arbitration by High Representative for BH
Carlos Westendorp, who decided that the airport's board of
directors would consist of three Croats, three Bosniacs and one
representative of the international community who will chair the
board.
