VUKOVAR, July 2 (Hina) - Since June 29 until Thursday, exhumation
teams of the Government Commission for Missing and Imprisoned
Persons have exhumed all 72 bodies from a mass grave near the
Vukovar town stadium.
Of the exhumed bodies, 36 belong to the people who were killed and
buried on that location during the Serbian aggression.
The bodies were sent to the town's New Cemetery where victims are
being identified, chief pathologist Drinko Balicevic said.
The bodies exhumed from the mass grave near the town stadium include
the bodies of a mother and her eight-year-old son buried in the same
coffin.
So far, 17 bodies have been identified.
The exhumation and identification of victims will be completed
tomorrow, Balicevic said.
The bodies which cannot be identified will be sent to the Zagreb
Institute for Forensics.
Another two bodies were exhumed in Vukovar today, on two different
locations at the old German cemetery.
