ZAGREB, June 25 (Hina) - Unions of Croatian primary and secondary
school teachers' have decided to suspend a strike in support of
higher salaries and a vacation bonus that started on June 12.
At a joint press conference, union representatives called on
teachers to imminently give their pupils final grades and thus
enable them to sit for entrance exams at polytechnics and
universities.
The unions have decided to suspend the strike so that on Friday the
Parliament could vote on a revision of the state budget, including
more funds for education, free of pressure, a joint communiqué
said.
