PRISTINA, June 25 (Hina) - Fierce fighting has continued between
Kosovo Albanian and Serbian forces in villages near the Yugoslav-
Albanian border, only a few kilometres from Djakovica, which was
visited yesterday by US envoy Richard Holbrooke, the Kosovo
Information Centre in Pristina reported Thursday.
Frontal fighting has been going on for the past several days in the
Dajkovica municipality, especially in the village Reka e Kece.
Serbian forces have continued to shell the village of Blace, some 60
km south of Pristina, the same source said.
Armed Serb civilians on Wednesday attacked the village of Pantina
near Vucitrn, severely wounding two Albanians. Residents of this
village and the village of Okrastica have left their homes
following murder threats.
Fire could be heard coming from Pantina and Orkrastica on Thursday,
the same source said.
Albanian sources also reported that Serbian forces burnt down
several dozen Albanian houses near Kosovska Mitrovica.
Serbian sources have released no reports on the fighting in
Kosovo.
