KOSOVO: CLASHES CONTINUE

( Editorial: --> 7786 ) PRISTINA, May 30 (Hina) - Serbian forces on Saturday continued attacks on villages in the Kosovo municipalities of Glogovac, Srbica, Pec and Djakovica, the Kosovo Information Centre reported tonight. Seven Albanians were killed and nine wounded and three Serbian solders and a civilian were killed in the past 24 hours in separate incidents in Kosovo, the same source said. Three Albanians were killed and three were wounded in today's attacks by Serbian forces on the village of Vranovce near Pec. One Albanian was killed and three were wounded in today's attacks on six villages in the Srbica municipality. Almost 3,000 Albanians arrived in Lipljan (about 15km south of Pristina) over the past two days, fleeing the area of Drenica due to intensified attacks by Serbian forces. According to Albanian sources, Serbian forces today continued strong cannon attacks on villages in the Glogovac municipality where more than 50 Albanian houses have been destroyed. There has been no information on victims, the same sources say adding that several villages in the Glogovac municipality have been without electricity for 24 hours. Serbian forces on Saturday shelled the village of Lybeniqe (near Pec), where 10 Albanians were massacred at the beginning of last week. There is no information on consequences of today's attack. The Albanian state television from Tirana reported about fierce fighting between Serbian forces and members of the Kosovo Liberation Army who are aided by Kosovo Albanians who are defending their homes.
