ZAGREB, June 17 (Hina) - The Croatian National Parliament's House
of Representatives will discuss the current situation in the
Croatian school system on Friday, following a report by the
Education and Sport Minister Bozidar Pugelnik.
This proposal was presented by Vladimir Seks of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) bench, following a break in today's
parliamentary session.
The proposal was unanimously supported by other MPs.
The HDZ bench called a meeting after a heated debate between the
Parliament Speaker and opposition representatives.
The opposition demanded that Parliament vote on including a
discussion on the school system into today's agenda as early as
today.
Parliament Speaker Vlatko Pavletic kept refusing the request due to
a lack of quorum.
The opposition then threatened to leave the session, which was
followed by a discussion on the rules of procedure and two breaks.
After the second break, there was quorum in session room and the
HDZ's proposal was adopted.
