SAKIC TO BE EXTRADITED TO CROATIA BY WEEK'S END

( Editorial: --> 1244 ) ZAGREB, June 15 (Hina) - The extradition of Dinko Ljubomir Sakic, to Croatia can be expected by the end of this week, his lawyer Ivan Kern said on Monday. He was a commander of the Jasenovac concentration camp during World War II. Sakic, 76, who has lived in Argentina for the past 50 years is suspected of crimes against humanity. His past was revealed in a television interview this year. Today, 15 June, is a month since the Argentinean President signed the extradition decree but not a month since it was delivered to Croatian authorities. A note from the Argentinean Foreign Minister on the extradition of Dinko Sakic to Croatia was received by the Croatian Embassy in Argentina on 27 May and from that date there is a one-month deadline for him to be extradited. Sakic will be extradited to Croatia via Germany which gave approval for his transit on 10 June. Sakic's trial will take place in Zagreb's County Court. (hina) jn bag 151325 MET jun 98
