PRISTINA, June 14 (Hina) - Kosovo Albanian politicians believe NATO
decisions are clear and encouraging and hope this time will prove
effective.
According to Fehmi Agani, head of the Kosovo Albanian negotiation
team, the aim of a NATO military intervention threat in Yugoslavia
is to force Yugoslav authorities in Belgrade to serious discussion
with Kosovo Albanians.
If the Serbian side accepts our proposal to cease all military and
political operations, we will guarantee a cease-fire by Albanian
groups, Agani said Sunday.
The president of the Kosovo Parliamentary Party Adem Demaci said
the international community has finally grasped how serious the
situation in Kosovo is and that it was the final moment to prevent
another tragedy like the one in Bosnia from happening.
Demaci believes the NATO and Contact Group decisions will force
Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to stop the aggression in
Kosovo, but fears Milosevic will, as before, try to skip
international obligations and stall the solution of the crisis
which, Demaci says, could have even more tragic consequences.
