ZAGREB, May 29 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian interior
Ministry headed by Minister Ivan Penic on Saturday laid wreaths at
the Homeland altar on occasion of Croatia's Statehood Day.
The delegation consisted of Deputy Minister Zlatko Gledec and
assistant ministers Josko Moric and Zeljko Sacic.
Penic wrote in the Memorial Book on Medvednica, a mountain
overlooking Zagreb: "On the occasion of Statehood Day, on the 8th
anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian State Parliament,
we bow down to all those who gave their lives for their homeland.
After nine centuries, Croatia is forever an independent and
democratic state."
A delegation of the city of Zagreb headed by mayor Marina Matulovic-
Dropulic also laid wreaths at the Homeland Altar.
The delegation consisted president of the Zagreb City Assembly
Zlatko Canjuga, deputy assembly presidents Antun Sporer and Damir
Bukovic, as well as deputy mayor Miljenko Cvjetko.
