ZAGREB, May 29 (Hina) - On the occasion of Croatia's Statehood day,
a delegation of the Croatian Parliament headed by National
Parliament speaker Vlatko Pavletic, laid wreaths at the Homeland
Altar on Medvednica, a mountain overlooking Zagreb.
The delegation consisted House of Counties' speaker Katica
Ivanisevic, House of Representatives' deputy speakers, Zarko
Domljan, Jadranka Kosor, Drazen Budisa, Stjepan Radic, and House of
COuntie's deputy speakers, Ivan Aralica and Bozidar Pankretic.
A delegation of the Croatian government, led by Prime Minister
Zlatko Matesa also laid wreaths. He was accompanied by deputy prime
ministers Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, Jure Radic and Ivica Kostovic.
"In rejoicing on the anniversary of our Homeland, we wish to
remember all those who gave their lives to enable its creation and
development. It is up to us to turn towards the future and engage
ourselves in its strengthening and the prosperity of all its
citizens," Matesa wrote in the Memorial Book.
A delegation of the Croatian Defence Ministry headed by Minister
Andrija Hebrang also laid wreaths. The delegation consisted deputy
Defence Minister Lt. Gen. Kresimir Cosic, Croatian Army Chief-of-
Staff Lt. Gen. Pavao Miljavac, Croatian Army Chief Inspector Lt.
Gen. Ante Gotovina and the Ministry's Administration Commissioner
for public relations and information Maj. Gen. Ivan Tolj.
