WASHINGTON, May 29 (Hina) - Sixteen Croats will visit the United
States this year as part of the International Visitors Programme
(IVP) of the U.S. Information Agency (USIA).
According to the USIA headquarters in Washington, this year the IVP
plans to invite some 5,000 foreigners for meetings and talks with
U.S. interlocutors in the same profession.
About 100,000 people have visited the U.S. in the 50 years of the
programme's activity.
Croatian politicians will visit in July.
About 30 people from Bosnia-Herzegovina will also visit this year,
as well as representatives of Serbian political parties, non-
government and student organisations.
Invitations to the U.S. as part of the IVP are forwarded by U.S.
embassies to people who are current or potential prime ministers,
people active in politics, the media, education, the arts, economy
and other fields.
