VUKOVAR, May 25 (Hina) - The Agency for Facilitating Real Estate
Transactions has purchased 1,431 buildings throughout Croatia
since September last year, Agency director Ivica Vrkic told
reporters in Vukovar, eastern Croatia, Monday.
One thousand three hundred buildings were purchased on behalf of
the state.
Five hundred out of these 1,300 objects were purchased in the Danube
River region of eastern Croatia and allocated to local government
and self-government officials, and employees of the ministries of
the interior, finance, education, health and justice.
Some 30 houses in eastern Croatia are intended for Croatian
defenders, while another 30 have been given to the ministries of
immigration and reconstruction and development, and refugees from
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Through the purchase of the said objects the Agency has taken care
of some 10,000 people, Vrkic said.
The Agency has spread its network all over Croatia and the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia, and should soon cover the Bosnian Serb
entity as well, he added.
In Croatia the Agency has also been purchasing land which, in
agreement with the Ministry of Reconstruction and Development, is
intended for the construction of houses for Homeland War victims.
