RIJEKA, May 12 (Hina) - A Turkish General consulate was opened in
Rijeka on Tuesday.
The former Croatian vice-premier, Darko Cargonja, was elected
honorary Turkish Consul.
The Turkish Ambassador to Croatia, Daryal Batibay, said at the
opening that the newly opened consulate would contribute to the
development of economic and other relations between Croatia and
Turkey.
The prefect of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Milivoj Brozina,
said that with the opening of the Turkish general Consulate, "this
city and the area surrounding it are richer by an important window
to the world".
