ZAGREB, May 1 (Hina) - "By following the workers' tradition and
fight for workers' rights, we are today, for the 108th year in a row,
joining the workers of Europe and the world in the celebration of
Labour Day," president of the Association of Croatian Workers'
Unions (URSH), Boris Kunst said at Zagreb's Maksimir Park on
Friday.
There are no more excuses for continuing life in poverty and without
prospects, for most to become poor while a small section of the
population is becoming rich by dubious means, Kunst said.
"We no longer want to take such injustice and increasing social
differences," he stressed.
Kunst announced new protests to which the URSH would invite all
workers, unions, political parties, citizens' associations and
others to point out to the government social and economic
problems.
