ZAGREB, May 1 (Hina) - Labour Day celebrations have begun at
Zagreb's Maksimir Park on Friday.
The celebration was organised by two main unions, the Association
of Croatian Workers' Unions (URSH) and the Association of
Independent Croatian Unions (SSSH).
The Labour Day parade was first held in 1890 and has been
reintroduced.
Citizens will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of
entertainment which will last until 19.00 hours Friday.
The Association of Workers' Unions has provided participants with
the traditional dish of bean stew with sausage and a glass of beer
for which citizens will be charged one kuna (DM 3.57). All profits
will go towards the reconstruction of the Workers' Home in
Vukovar.
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman is also expected to join in the
celebration.
