DRVAR, April 25 (Hina) - After a long meeting held in the
Stabilisation Force base in the Croat-controlled town of Drvar,
western Bosnia, officials of the Herceg-Bosna Canton and
international representatives signed an agreement early on
Saturday morning.
The agreement commits all sides in Drvar to taking additional
security measures for the sake of protection of Serb returnees and
all residents of the Drvar municipality, the president of the
Herceg-Bosna Canton Assembly Mijo Tokic told Hina.
It was agreed that Drvar police officers and canton interior
ministry would be in charge of implementing those security measures
after the withdrawal of SFOR troops.
The international delegation at the meeting was lead by the head of
the Mostar regional office of the High Representative, Martin
Garrod. Present at the talks were also the Federation Assistant
Interior Minister Jozo Leutar and Croatian presidential advisor on
humanitarian issues, Slobodan Lang.
The meeting took place following yesterday's riots by Croat
displaced, in which a dozen people were wounded and several
buildings were set on fire.
