GENEVA, April 14 (Hina) - European Union representative Ambassador
Audrey Glover applauded the contribution of the Croatian
government and local east Slavonian population towards the
peaceful implementation of the Croatian Danube River region.
Before the EU Human Rights Commission, Glover called on the
Croatian government to convince the Serb population in the region
of its wish for an improvement of the situation in the region,
especially regarding the two-way return of displaced persons and
refugees and further establishment of trust.
The UN Human Rights Commission began its fourth day of session in
Geneva on Tuesday with reports of human rights in several
countries.
The EU also hailed Croatia's cooperation with the International
Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), and called on
cooperation with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe (OSCE) and other law-oriented organisations.
