DRVAR, Apr 9 (Hina)- In an action sponsored by High Commissioner,
UNHCR and SFOR, 186 members of the FBH Army in Drvar, western BH,
handed back the keys of the flats of Serb refugees they have been
using since their legitimate tenants left the town. The keys are now
in the custody of international organisations in the Drvar region.
"We witnessed in Drvar today how the army vacated civilian
buildings and 150 Serb refugees returned to the town", head of the
High Commissioner's Mostar office Martin Garrod told the press. He
described that as a case of actual implementation of Anex 7 of the
Dayton peace accords, which deals with the return of refugees.
According to deputy head of the Drvar municipality Drago Tokmacija,
an organised return to Drvar of a large number of Serbs proves
Croatia's readiness and cooperativeness in implementation of the
Dayton accords. He said he hoped the Croats presently accomodated
in Drvar would be allowed to return to their homes in Bosanska
Posavina and in central Bosnia.
Furthermore, the press was told that today UNHCR organised a visit
to Teslic, 150 km north of Sarajevo, for 40 Croat refugees.
Today's return of Serbs to Drvar has been incident free.
