ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - Members of a Croatian parliamentary
delegation attending the 99th Inter-Parliamentary Conference in
Windhoek, Namibia on Wednesday spoke about the post-war
establishment of trust and the return of refugees.
The main topic of the conference, which will last until April 11, is
the prevention of conflicts and restoration of peace and trust in
countries emerging from war, as well as the return of refugees to
their native countries, the strengthening of democratic processes
and acceleration of reconstruction.
Croatia has been elected into a committee for drawing-up
resolutions on the most important topic of the conference.
The Croatian delegation submitted a memorandum entitled "The
Challenge of Good: Humanitarian Proposals Following the War,
Efforts Aimed at Restoring Peace and Trust and the Return of
Refugees".
Slobodan Lang, a member of the delegation, delivered a speech
entitled "The Challenge of Good" at a plenary session held today.
Another member of the delegation, Zdravka Busic, participated in
the work of the First Political Committee, which focused on the
problem of refugees and displaced people, as well as in a meeting of
Women Parliamentarians and the coordination of the meeting.
Busic acted as a representative for Central and East Europe.
The Croatian delegation also includes parliamentarians Antun
Vujic, Ivan Milas and secretary Andrina Pavlinic.
