AMSTERDAM, March 31 (Hina) - A two-day conference aimed at making
concrete suggestions for the strengthening of cooperation between
foreign private investors and countries which need to develop their
infrastructure and adjust it to western European standards, opened
in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
There are great sources of foreign capital which can be invested
into the development of infrastructure in new democracies of
central and eastern Europe, but the challenge lies in carrying out
these investment plans, said Dutch Premier Wim Kok opening the
conference.
The conference is attended by some 300 government representatives
and experts from OSCE member-countries, Korea, Japan and
international financial institutions.
A Croatian delegation headed by Economy Minister Nenad Porges is
attending the conference.
