CROATIAN & YUGOSLAV COMMISSIONS FOR MISSING COMPLETE FIRST ROUND OF TALKS

OF TALKS ( Editorial: --> 3793 ) BELGRADE, April 1 (Hina) - The Croatian delegation has handed over to the Yugoslav side all available documents concerning former JNA soldiers as well as a large number of documents on people killed during the operations "Flash" and "Storm", said Ivan Grujic, head of the Croatian Commission for Missing and Imprisoned Persons, in Belgrade on Tuesday. Grujic is heading a Croatian delegation which is participating in two-day talks with the Yugoslav Commission for Humanitarian Issues and Missing Persons. The talks started in the Yugoslav capital yesterday. During the first day of talks, the Yugoslav side handed over documents on victims buried at the new cemetery in Vukovar. Croatia will continue to give available data but it expects the same degree of cooperation from Yugoslavia, Grujic said. The Yugoslav delegation handed over 168 personal objects which were found with victims and which will be given to their families, the head of the Croatian delegation said. Yesterday's meeting opened some new questions such as the question of Croats who were buried on the Yugoslav territory. The Croatian delegation also demands that all persons convicted of alleged espionage for Croatia be released from Yugoslav prisons, Grujic added. The two commissions will continue their meeting today. (hina) rm 011059 MET apr 98
