WARSAW, March 20 (Hina) - Members of the House of Counties, led by
Speaker Katica Ivanisevic, met Polish Deputy Foreign Minister,
Andrzej Ananicz, in Warsaw on Friday.
The meeting discussed the wish, shared by both countries, for a
speedier integration into Europe, the situation in the Croatian
Danubian area and the situation in Kosovo.
MP Ivan Aralica stressed that for Croatia, any rapprochement with
Europe depended on the realisation of the Dayton and Washington
Accords, despite the fact that Croatia played only a partial role in
their implementation.
"In this way, Croatia has become practically a hostage of the
Bosnian situation," Ivanisevic added.
The delegation's visit on Thursday to the House of German-Polish
Reconciliation in Gdansk showed how unrealistic the world's
expectations were for a full and immediate reconciliation in the
Danubian area, she emphasised.
"The reconciliation between Germans and Poles has only been raised
now, 50 years after the war, yet we are being expected to achieve it
immediately," she said.
