VUKOVAR, March 17 (Hina) - At the initiative of Djakovo-Srijem
Bishop Marin Srakic, 70 Catholic and Orthodox priests from the
Croatian Danube region met in Vukovar on Tuesday.
This is the first such religious working meeting.
It was conducted by Bishop Srakic, auxiliary bishop Djuro
Gasparovic and the Episcopes of Osijek-Baranja and Srijem, Lukijan
and Vasilije.
The meeting was held without the presence of reporters.
At the beginning of the meeting, Bishop Srakic spoke about its
importance.
"The meeting which starts with a prayer speaks best about the wishes
and sincere reading of the Gospel. We have met as representatives of
two churches to see together what we are to do for the benefit of the
peoples and the Church," said Srakic.
Catholic and Orthodox priests would discuss questions they were
facing in the process of peaceful reintegration, with the aim of
successfully continuing that process.
