ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - A delegation of the Norwegian parliament
and Helsinki Committee, headed by Erik Solheim, visited Knin on
Friday.
The delegation met with Knin mayor Josip Odak and discussed with him
the status of the Serb community and the work of the Municipal
Committee for Trust Establishment.
Mayor Odak said that the security of all citizens was satisfactory
but the economic situation was difficult.
"The situation is additionally aggravated by the lack of
understanding from the international community, because we deal
here with a three-way, not a two-way return, and one should have
understanding for that," said Odak.
The three-way return includes the return of Croat and Serb refugees
from Croatia and Croat refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Between 12,000 and 15,000 people lived in Knin, said Odak adding he
wanted to be the mayor of all Knin residents, regardless of their
national and religious background.
