ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - Croatian women's organisations have
launched a joint appeal to women worldwide as well as governmental
and non-governmental organisations to get actively involved in
promoting human rights in Kosovo, the Association of Croatian Women
Intellectuals told a press conference on Thursday.
"It is high time to take a more energetic action against police and
military repression in Kosovo, and Croatian women are raising their
voice in support of that goal," said Association president Vlasta
Vince Ribaric.
The appeal was forwarded to the International Federation of
University Women, based in Geneva, which will distribute it to
other addressees, Vince Ribaric specified.
President of the Association of Albanian Women in Croatia, Shenida
Bilalli, called on all international authorities and factors, as
well as Serbian motherx, to raise their voices in protest against
the aggression and in support of dialogue.
"So far, the Albanian people have refrained from retaliating
against the provocations of Serbian authorities but their patience
is at an end," she said.
