SARAJEVO, 16 Feb (Hina) - A thousand Srebrenica women on Monday
afternoon blocked all traffic in downtown Sarajevo, voicing their
indignation over the failure to unearth any new facts about the
disappearance of several thousand of their men.
Thousands of Srebrenica's men have been missing since Bosnian Serb
troops seized the eastern Bosnian enclave in the summer of 1995.
The women demanded the appearance of the Chairman of the Presidency
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegovic. However, the appearance
of Co-chairman of the Council of Ministers Haris Silajdžić, who
said the Government was putting forth every effort to establish the
whereabouts of their family members, seemed to increase the
protesters' displeasure.
Association of Srebrenica Refugees chairman Ibran Mustafić said
eastern Bosnians would never accept that their towns and villages
become part of the Bosnian Serb entity "no matter what other people
think about it".
