TOVARNIK, Jan 30 (Hina) - The remains of 50 bodies were exhumed
Thursday from a mass grave at the Catholic cemetery in Tovarnik, a
village in eastern Croatia.
The victims were killed in 1991, after the former Yugoslav People's
Army (JNA) and Serb rebels seized the village.
Another body was exhumed at another site in Tovarnik, the president
of the Croatian Government's commission for detained and missing
persons, Ivan Grujic, told Hina Thursday evening.
Forty-four of the victims have been identified so far, Grujic said,
adding among them was a Catholic priest from the village, Ivan
Burik.
Excavations are being carried out on other locations in the
Tovarnik area as well, Grujic concluded.
