On Sunday's ceremony, a special train with Sisak authorities aboard travelled from Sisak to Novska for the first time since the summer 1991. Regular passenger and cargo traffic will resume on December 20, announced HZ Director-General, Dragutin Subat. The reopening of the railway line will contribute to the economic recovery of this war-hit Croatian area. Residents in the Sunja area, the Sava River valley and the Una River valley will be able to travel faster and cheaply toward the town of Sisak, the centre of Sisak-Moslavina County. During the ceremony, County Prefect Djuro Brodarac thanked the HZ for the renovation of the railroad and to the Croatian De-mining Centre for clearing mines from the area in question. Present at the ceremony was Ivica Kostovic, the Croatian President's chief-of-staff. (hina) ms
