CRO OFFICIALS IN MOSTAR DISCONTINUE RELATIONS WITH INT COMMUNITY

MOSTAR, Dec 10 (Hina) - The Croaitan Democratic Union's Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Committee at Friday's session unanimously decided to discontinue all relations between Croat officials in the canton and representatives of the international community until December 17, 1999. The one-week-long break of relations with international bodies in the canton is the act of warning and justified expectations of fairer treatment towards Croat population and its interests, read a statement issued by the Bosnia-Herzegovina HDZ Canton Committee. The reason for the discontinuation of cooperation with international representatives is the violation of regulations of the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia- Herzegovina and the Constitution of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, "because Croats are not allowed to realise the fundamental national rights which are guaranteed by the documents". "The confirmation of this is a decision of the international community on the prohibition of displaying national symbols, a decision on the central Zone (in the southern Bosnia-Herzegovina town of Mostar), a threat to prohibit the work of Croat electronic media, particularly Erotel, a decision of the High Representative to recall Croat officials in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton municipalities, and electoral regulations for the next elections", read the statement.
