ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - The Croatian Association of the Unemployed (UNH) on Monday requested of the Government to set aside money for the payment of Christmas bonuses for the unemployed. The UNH deems the bonuses should amount to 1,000
kuna (about US$133.3) and 400 kuna (about US$53.3) for gifts for children, in accordance with the collective agreement for public officials. At Monday's news conference UNH president Fjodor Kuzmanic recalled a provision of the Croatian Constitution according to which the unemployed have the right to government assistance for their basic living needs during the time of unemployment. This right is currently being enjoyed by only 17 per cent of the unemployed in Croatia, Kuzmanic said.(hina) lml
