ASSOCIATION OF HIV-INFECTED IN CROATIA ADVOCATES ELIMINATION OF PREJUDICES

ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - The Croatian association of HIV-infected people, established two months ago in Zagreb, will endeavour to help eliminate all prejudices against persons who suffer from IDS. The association will also advocate a better way of living and continuation of the life by the conduct of the treatment with the combination of three drugs which has so far yielded good results and instilled hope in many patients. HIV-infected people have realised they cannot alone tackle problems and their refusal by society unless they unite and help each other, read a statement issued by this association on the occasion of World AIDS Day (December 1). The fight for the life of each HIV-infected person is onerous and burdened with prejudices of the community where such patients live. They are usually obstructed in exercising their right to protect privacy and family life, and particularly in exercising the right to work. Objectives of this association is the financial, social, medical and spiritual help to people who suffer from AIDS and to their relatives as well as the strengthening of the prevention and better conditions for medical treatment.
