SPLIT, Dec 4 (Hina) - The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies urged tourists this week to obtain detailed information prior to booking destinations for the 2000 New Year's Eve, in order to avoid possible millennium bug-related
problems. The millennium big could cause power, heating, and water failures, missing reservations, lack of coordination in the work of cableways, and "many other problems," the Association said in a statement on Thursday. "Fewer problems can be expected if the organisation of New Year's travelling is entrusted to an authenticated organiser, namely a travel agency with an identification code," says the statement. The Association also pointed out it would recommend that its members prior to signing arrangements request clients to sign a statement confirming they are aware the millennium bug may cause difficulties in travelling.
