ZAGREB ZAGREB, Nov 27 (Hina) - A two-day international conference on the position of woman and family on the eve of the third millennium began in Zagreb on Saturday. The event has been organised by the Social and Democratic Party
(SDP), and the "New Society (Novo Društvo)", the Vienna-based Alfred Mozer, the Paris-based Jean Jaures and the London-based Westminster foundations. The purpose of the conference is to point to the status and problem of woman in countries in transition in last ten years and compare it with the experience of women's societies in European Union member-states, said Zeljka Antunovic, an SDP deputy to the Croatian National Sabor. Present at the event are officials of the International Socialist organisation, and about 120 representatives of political parties and of NGOs and trade unions.(hina) ms
