man Presidency, Ante Jelavic, on Friday received members of the
founding committee of the public Radio Television of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (RTV Bosnia-Herzegovina), who held a session in
Mostar.
They discussed the establishment of a new radio and television
system in the country and re-broadcasting of Croatia's radio and
television (HRT) programme in Bosnia.
The founding committee of the Bosnian public radio and television
service enjoys the absolute support of the (Bosnia) Croat party in
re-organisation of the current media, Jelavic told reporters after
the meeting.
The goal of the reorganisation, Jelavic said, is to set up "free,
democratic media."
This Bosnian Croat leader is expecting that the current Sarajevo-
based RTV in Bosnia will soon discontinue working as television of
one people and that a federal television house be constituted with
two channels (Croat channel and Moslem channel).
The chairman of the nine-member founding committee, Tadey
Labernik, who has been appointed by the Office of the international
High Representative to Bosnia, said this committee had also
received the support from the Serb member of the Presidency, Zivko
Radisic.
Labernik added the new RTV service wanted to be independent media
which may contribute to better understanding among all three
nations as well as to gain confidence of common people, structures
of authorities as well as of the public throughout the country.
