ceremonies held in memory of the killed and the dead. Croatia's President Franjo Tudjman on Monday morning placed a wreath at the Altar of Homeland at Mt. Medvednica overlooking Zagreb. "On All Saints' Day, I laid a wreath in memory of all who lived, suffered, died and gave their lives in order that the Croatian people could survive and establish their free and independent state," President Tudjman wrote in the visitors' book.
