OPATIJA, Oct 31 (Hina) - Jelena Lovric, a journalist and columnist with the Rijeka-based "Novi list" daily was pronounced the Croatian Journalist of 1998 in Opatija on Saturday. The journalist of the year award "Veselko Tenzera" was
presented to Lovric at a ceremony held at the end of the Day of Croatian Journalism of the Croatian Journalists' Association in Opatija. Ivan Starcevic, a columnist with "Nacional" weekly was another nominee for the award. The life achievement award "Otokar Kersovani" went to the editor-in-chief of "Nacional" weekly Pero Zlatar. Other, previously announced journalist awards were presented at last night's ceremony as well.
