POREC POREC, Oct 23 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian Tourism Ministry, Istria County, the city of Porec, and the Vrsar municipality on Saturday signed a contract on establishing a consortium to construct a golf course in Plava
Laguna and Zelena Laguna, two tourist resorts in the Porec area. This is the first contract within a programme on the construction of 19 golf courses in Croatia. The main investor in the project is the hotel company Plava Laguna, which should start implementing the project at the beginning of next year. The project, worth about 25 million kuna (about US$3.5 million), should be completed before the autumn. A senior advisor with the Tourism Ministry, in charge of promoting golf, Velimir Simicic, said after the signing ceremony the construction of golf-courses was an important step in expanding and improving Croatia's tourist offer.(hina) rml
