DUBROVNIK AIRPORT BUILDING DUBROVNIK, Oct 22 (Hina) - Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa on Friday opened a newly-reconstructed Dubrovnik airport building. Dubrovnik airport was devastated in the Serbian-Montenegrin aggression and the
damage was estimated at about DM48 million. The reconstruction of the airport started in 1993 and the first stage was completed in 1995 with funds from the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) amounting to six million German marks. The second stage, which started in 1998 and was financed with an international loan worth DM18 million and with government guarantees, should have been completed by Easter 1999, but the completion deadline was delayed due to the NATO operation in Yugoslavia. Premier Matesa said the new airport building for international traffic was the expression of the wish of the Croatian people to help that part of Croatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva
