Busic's remains rested 21 years at the Paris cemetery Pere
Lachaise. Following their exhumation, to take place on October 10,
and a ceremony at the Croatian Catholic Centre in Paris, which will

Busic was born in Vinjani Donji near Imotski, southern Croatia, on
October 6, 1939. He graduated from Zagreb's Faculty of Economy in
1964 and started working as a researcher at the then Croatian
Institute for History. He was one of the editors of "Hrvatski
knjizevni list". He came under police persecution after he
participated in a democratic movement in the then socialist
Croatia, known as "Hrvatsko proljece", (Croatian spring) in 1971.
After serving a prison sentence of several years, he emigrated
abroad.
With his ideas and his vision of struggle for the Croatian state
Busic gathered almost all generations of Croatian political
emigrants.
The transfer of Busic's remains to Croatia was organised by the
Foundation, Croatian Commission for Establishing War and Post-War
Victims, and the Association of Former Political Prisoners.
