ALBRIGHT'S DEPUTY ROBERT FROWICK VISITS TRAVNIK

TRAVNIK, Oct 15 (Hina) - Robert Frowick, a deputy to US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in charge of the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina, on Friday visited the central Bosnian town of Travnik, where he discussed reconstruction and refugee return with Central Bosnia Canton officials. After the talks Frowick said that he was impressed with efforts invested by the canton authorities in the return of refugees. Commenting on problems in the return process, Frowick said there were in the canton 1,000 reconstructed houses whose owners had still not returned. Frowick also said there were political forces and individuals trying to dissuade refugees from returning, adding that had to be overcome. In Travnik, Frowick visited the religious buildings of all three confessions and in Turbe, outside the city, he met refugees from other parts of Bosnia who found accommodation there, as well as returnees to the village. At the end of the visit, the US official commended the work of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Travnik and other international and non-government organisations operating in the area.
